Muslim Student Association Condemns Woolwich Conspiracy Theory

The London Metropolitan Ahmadiyya Muslim Student’s Association (AMSA) wholeheartedly condemns the reprehensible video posted by the London Metropolitan ISOC on their Facebook page. Any attempt to belittle the tragic and senseless murder of Drummer Lee Rigby by claiming it to be staged or otherwise, is disrespectful to the deceased, to his family, and the entire British public.

In claiming that this murder was staged, the party involved has behaved in a highly conceited manner. This attitude betrays a total lack of empathy and sympathy for the victim and is wholly against the teaching of Islam. The Holy Qur’an clearly declares:

‘O ye who believe! be strict in observing justice, and be witness for God, even though it be against yourselves or against parents and kindred… And if you conceal the truth or evade it, then remember that God is well aware of what you do.’ (Qur’an, 4:136)

Abrar Ahmad, President of AMSA London Met, said:
”Such actions bear no resemblance to the true peaceful Islam that we know and love. Our teachings are unequivocal in rejecting murder and extremism, as set out in the Holy Qur’an: ‘He whosoever killed a person… it shall be as if he had killed all mankind.’ We continue to stand resolutely against those who carry out extremist acts in the name of Islam.”

”Most shocking of all, was the total lack of empathy and mercy displayed. Anyone who calls himself or herself a Muslim, should follow the example of the Prophet Muhammad – peace and blessings of God be upon him – who stated: ‘God has no mercy for one who has no mercy for humankind’.”
